Chennault International Airport

Hurricane Laura ripped through Lake Charles, causing severe damage to the airport hangers, traffic control towers, and office buildings. We quickly went to work and began debris removal to clear the site and get it ready for inspection to assess the extent of work needed to restore the facilities. We performed demolition and removal of all un-repairable steel structures and restored all damaged metal hangers, towers, and buildings including exterior and interior work. This involved detaching and replacing all damaged sheet metal and purlins on the exterior of the structures. Damage to exterior walls left the office buildings vulnerable to the elements causing extensive sheetrock damage. We removed and replaced all damaged sheetrock and completed the tape, texture, float process to a level 5 finish, restoring interior walls back to pre-damage condition. After all the heavy equipment was out of the way we repaired concrete walkways and performed earthwork to repair the land damage from all the trucks and heavy equipment, making sure the entire property was restored back to its pre-damage condition.
